Quick start for Peru at Sunfish Worlds

Published on October 8th, 2018

Wrightsville Beach, NC (October 8, 2018) – The Sunfish World Championship got underway today amid 6-foot seas and 15-18 knots of wind which provided three races for the 60 competitors.

At the end of Day One, Jean Paul Trazegnies of Peru is in the lead after scoring two bullets and a 2nd, followed by Alonso Collantes, Peru, who is last year’s World Champion. Tied for 3rd and 4th place respectively is Martin Alsogaray of Argentina and David Hernandez of Guatemala. In 5th place is the USA’s top finisher on Day One, Conner Blouin.

If the weather predictions hold true, it’ll be heavier air and high seas for the schedule of up to 12 races planned for October 8-12.
