Fickle Florida for Star Winter Series

Published on December 2nd, 2018

The second event of the Star Winter Series had 13 teams compete in the Commodores Cup held December 1-2 in Miami, FL. While great south Florida winter conditions in the low 80’s and sunny weather with a southerly 10-12 knots prevailed on the first day, a lack of breeze on the second day forced the abandonment of racing. Taking the top prize after three races was Doug Smith/ Guy Avellon (above) with Nic Pro/ Aaron Smith as the top junior team and Mike Phinney/ Alex Baker as top Grand Master.
