Wind war at Star Western Hemispheres

Published on May 23rd, 2019

San Diego, CA (May 23, 2019) – After the opening day of the International Star Class 2019 Western Hemisphere Championship was cancelled due to strong winds and a difficult sea-state, today’s challenge for the 24 teams vying for the Silver Star title was light winds. Surviving the 5 knot first race was Carl and Jamie Buchan followed by Brian Ledbetter/ Magnus Liljedahl and Chuck Driscoll/ Jim Oberg. The second race was completed but the lead boat just missed the time limit. The race schedule is from May 22 to 25.

UPDATE: It was decided by the jury to include race two on the scoresheet.
