Growth for college keelboat competition

Twenty-two teams have entered the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta, a record for the event to be held September 21-22 in Chicago, IL.

With boats provided by the local T10 and J/105 fleets, the GLIOR is an annual fall regatta that provides an opportunity for collegiate sailors to experience keelboat racing, with participating teams coming from college sailing programs in the Midwest and beyond.

Racing will occur out of the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club. The follow teams are expected to participate:

The 2019 GLIOR has partnered with Sailors of the Sea for a green regatta. The regatta will be a Bronze Level event, regatta guests and participants are reminded to bring reusable water bottles and ensure limited use of non-recyclable materials.
