2019-2020 Interclub Dinghy Midwinters

Published on January 12th, 2020

After being blown out earlier in December, the 2019-2020 Interclub Dinghy Midwinter Championship was completed January 11-12 in Larchmont, NY. The Larchmont Yacht Club Race Committee made the most of a challenging forecast, running 12 good races on day one, though near-gale force winds prevented more racing on day two.

The local team of Ted Ferrarone/ Meredith Killion and Cardwell Potts/ Kendra Emhiser (above) won in a tiebreak over the team of Mike Curtin/ Elizabeth Langwith and Bill Rothwell/ Allyson Schultz. IC class veterans Paul Jon/ Andre Patin and Pedro Lorson/ Mimi Berry placed third.

The Midwinter Championship is an A/B “college-style” event that was created by the Annapolis Interclub fleet and is now hosted at Larchmont Yacht Club. This year’s event saw the re-dedication of “Benji Trophy”, a new perpetual trophy donated by Heidi and Steve Benjamin.
