2019 Interclub Dinghy Midwinters

The Larchmont Yacht Club hosted the Interclub Dinghy Midwinters this past weekend, January 26-27, 2019. Twenty-three two-division teams competed in a collegiate-style “A/B” format. The fleet was super-deep and included the IC Dinghy National Champions for 18 out of the last 20 years.

Despite temps that only peaked at 33 degrees on Saturday, five tight races in each division (ten total) were completed. Sunday was blown out by a smoking January southerly allowing for early departures for the traveling teams.

The event had traditionally been held at SSA but was relocated to Larchmont YC this year, and as part of the move, a new perpetual for the Midwinters was dedicated in honor of Steve and Heidi Benjamin – now known as “The Benj”.
