America’s Cup skunked on Day Four

Published on March 13th, 2021

Auckland, New Zealand (March 14, 2021) – Weather won the day on the Waitemata Harbour today on the fourth day of the 36th America’s Cup with the Race Committee forced to call off racing due to the lack of wind.

With early optimism for a NE sea breeze of 7-10 knots from around 020, it proved to be a day better suited to fishing and swimming for the 1300+ spectator boats gathered around Race Course A.

As the scoreboard between Emirates Team New Zealand and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and the best-of-13 series remains tied three apiece, the forecast for tomorrow is promising for ENE 10-15 knots.

America’s Cup Match Scoreboard (wins-losses)
Emirates Team New Zealand (NZL): 3-3
Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team (ITA): 3-3

After advancing as the winner of the PRADA Cup, Italian challenger faces the Kiwi defense in the best of 13 series. The 36th America’s Cup Match racing schedule has two races per day planned for March 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, and each day after that until the first team has won seven races.
