Skunked at 420 World Championship

Published on July 5th, 2021

Marina Degli Aregai, Italy (July 5, 2021) – The opening day of the 2021 420 World Championship failed to open due to a lack of wind.

Sailors were sent to courses in the morning as per scheduled, but after a long time on water without any breeze, the Race Committee decided to return them to shore and wait, but ultimately racing was abandoned.

The intention of the RC is to run three races tomorrow, with the first warning signal not before 10 am.

Two hundred ten boats from 20 nations will be racing in the Men/Mixed, Women, and Under 17 categories from July 5 to 10.
