Future Olympians at 29er World Champs

With the shift in Olympic equipment toward high performance, the pathway to the podium has found favor in the 29er Class with 193 boats from 24 countries to compete in the 2021 29er World Championship in Valencia, Spain.

Germany and Italy are the two countries, together with Spain, that will have the largest representation in this World Championship, with 26 and 22 boats respectively. Denmark, meanwhile, is another of the strong countries that have come with 17 boats, while France with 14 and Great Britain and Holland with 12, are other delegations with weight.

With racing on August 26-31, all competitors must be at least 13 years of age in 2021 with no maximum age, and prizes will recognize the top men’s and women’s teams along with the top teams under 17 years of age.

North America is represented by six teams from the USA:

Ian Nyenhuis and Noah Nyenhuis
Anton Schmid and Peter Joslin
Fynn Olsen and Pierce Olsen
Griffin Gigliotti and Jack Welburn
