Published on September 11th, 2021

Colchester, VT (September 11, 2021) – Spectacular conditions allowed 41 teams to complete four more races on the middle day of the 2021 J/24 US National Championship hosted by Malletts Bay Boat Club.

With sunny skies, warm temperatures and winds between 10-14 knots, Mike Marshall extended his advantage over eight total races. Now discarding an eighth, Marshall retains scores all in the top four for only 12 net points, and a 20-point lead over second-place Tony Parker. Mike Ingham sits one notch behind in third overall.

Marshall earned his fourth bullet of the event in today’s opener, with Parker and Kirk Reynolds behind him. Parker moved up to the top position in race 6, swapping with Marshall in second and Frederick Wiedeke Jr. in third. Carter White took the victory in the day’s third contest, with Marshall again in the silver spot and Ingham in the bronze. Leading the pack to shore were Nobuyuki Imai, Bill Fastiggi and Mark Laura.

Racing is being held September 10-12.
