While Florida has been a common retreat for those opting to avoid cold weather and travel south for the winter (snowbirds), it has also caused many areas of the state to become very crowded.

Based on this, Rocket Homes® conducted a new study to discover the Most Unexpected Snowbird Destinations. Key West ranked #1 best unknown destination for snowbirds in Florida.

Specific Ranking Factors:
• Key West ranks #1 for comfortable temperatures.
• 62% of days in winter are sunny.
• With the Florida Keys at the southernmost point, the avg. temperature doesn’t drop below 65.6 degrees.
