The globally renowned Design Awards at METSTRADE (Marine Equipment Trade) Show have now opened for nominations, with all entry fees supporting the work of the World Sailing Trust to safeguard the planet and promote boating participation.
The DAME (Design Award at METSTRADE) highlights the merits of excellent design in all its many facets, from aesthetics, functionality, and innovation, through to integration, practicality of use, price to performance ratio and presentation. Entrants must also explain how environmental impact reduction has been considered across the whole product design.
Entries will be judged across seven categories spanning the sectors represented at METSTRADE before an eventual winner is chosen. Nominations are open until until September 16, 2022. Details: https://www.metstrade.com/awards
Last year’s overall winner, Volvo Penta, was recognized for their Assisted Docking System.
The DAME was launched in 1991 to promote design across all disciplines and recognize the best-designed products at the METSTRADE show. In the thirty editions and one pandemic special, many hundreds of pioneering companies in the marine equipment sector, from micro businesses to large groups, have had their design achievements recognized and promoted across the industry and its customers.
Participation is open to manufacturers and authorized suppliers who are registered as exhibitors or co-exhibitors at METSTRADE, the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine industry. It is organized by RAI Amsterdam in association with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations). In 2022, the METSTRADE show will be held November 15-17 in Amsterdam.
