Odenbach secures 2022 J/22 title

Travis Odenbach’s Honeybadger dominated the 2022 J/22 North American Championship, held September 15-17 in East Tawas, MI. With crew Geoff Becker and Billy Farmer, the Rochester Yacht Club-based team posted all top four scores to secure the title before the eighth and final race.

Christopher Doyle’s The Jug 4 1 won two races to finish in second, six points off the lead. In third was Jeffrey Todd’s Hot Toddy also winning two races. Twenty-one teams representing 10 states competed on Tawas Bay.

“We just kept grinding away and collectively made good decisions,” noted Odenbach. “I’m so happy to have worked in this event with two of my best friends, Geoff Becker and Billy Farmer. Tawas Bay Yacht Club was amazing, along with Jennifer and Chris Princing. . Now back to the kids!”
