Sixteen teams for Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta
Published on February 9th, 2023
The 7th Annual Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta in 2023 is on February 11-12 in Charleston, SC. This year’s regatta will feature 16 teams from across the USA, with Princeton, the Citadel, Embry-Riddle University, SUNY Maritime, and the University of Vermont as first-time entrants.
The teams will compete in a variety of keelboats provided by local Charleston boat owners.
Launched in 2014 with four teams competing, it is now one of the largest and most competitive intercollegiate keelboat sailing regattas in the United States. The event has a history of fostering a competitive yet supportive atmosphere and has played a key role in promoting the sport of sailing and supporting the development of young keelboat sailors.
With a total of 25 teams submitting a registration form, the goal is to have more boats available in the future to continue growing this event.
