Held in alternate years with the Snipe World Championship, the 2023 Snipe Western Hemisphere & Asia Championship was March 14-18 in Algarrobo, Chile. Attracting 35 teams from seven countries, it was the first time for Chile to host the event, and locals Matias and Constanza Seguel became the first Chilean team to win the title. Puerto Rico and the USA qualified at the North Americans and Chile has an auto entry as host. Brazil and Argentina secured the two entries with two more to be earned at the 2023 South American Championship in Montevideo, Uruguay. The 2023 Central American Games in El Salvador will determine the final country. The Snipe is the Mixed Dinghy for the Pan Am Games.
