Who will carry the torch for Team GB?

Published on October 11th, 2023

When you are Great Britain, the most successful nation in Olympic Sailing history, an update on Team GB’S representatives for Paris 2024 can melt the internet. And it did with the announcement of the sailors selected for seven of the 10 events.

World Sailing revised half of the Sailing Program for the 2024 Olympics, so the Brits have only Tokyo 2020 silver medal winners John Gimson and Anna Burnet continuing in the Nacra 17 for the Mixed Multihull competition. Emma Wilson, who claimed a bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 in the Women’s Windsurfing event, is back again, but this time with the newly selected iQFOil equipment.

The process used by Great Britain for Olympic selection is subjective, with three events – Women’s One Person Dinghy (ILCA 6), Men’s Kiteboard (Formula Kite Class), and Mixed Two Person Dinghy (470) – still too close to call. As for those that made the early cut, click here.
