Sailors just want to have fun (or should)

The mission for Guardians of the Monohull is ‘To protect and serve mono-hull sailboat racing far and wide’. While the genesis of the “organization” was born from when the World Match Racing Tour got hijacked by a company to sell M32s, the members now seem focused on promoting fun.
Some their recent Facebook updates tackle current issues:
Event selection for the Olympic Games:
They should put a class that has mandatory drinking in the Olympics to mimic real sailing. Yeah, it may take skill to hump and grind that 470 all up the racecourse, but try doing it after drinking five Jager Bombs the previous night and blacking out in a Paris nightclub. Then we’ll see who’s standing on the podium at the end.
Adding Mario Kart rules to the America’s Cup:
Looks like Italy is on track for the speed boost, but NZL is headed right towards the blue shell which will result in a lead change. Might be a bit tricky around the port gate as there’s a few banana peels leftover from their previous rounding, but NZL’s skipper Peter Burling has made it clear he wants those mystery boxes.
