Game time at Open Dinghy Nationals

The first stage of the 2024 College Open Fleet Racing National Championship is complete as 36 teams competed in the Semi-Finals on May 24-25 in Boston, MA. A variety of challenging wind conditions on the Charles River was best handled by Roger Williams University which clinched victory in the Western division while Harvard University took first in the Eastern division.

The Open Semi-Finals mirrored the Women’s Semi-Finals with similarly unpredictable wind conditions. On the first day, sailors were treated to a building breeze, perfect for showcasing their hiking prowess and heavy air boat-handling. However, the second day brought a wind delay, keeping sailors ashore until the sea breeze finally filled in. Eighteen races were completed in the Eastern Division, while the Western Division had 17 races, with nine teams advancing from each group for the Finals.
