2024 Sunfish North American Championship

Jean Paul de Trazegnies of Peru won the 2024 Sunfish North American Championship held June 13-15 in Barnegat Bay, NJ. This was his send NA title, prevailing by a point over David Misael Hernandez Guzman of Guatemala. The 105-boat fleet faced windy conditions on all three days of the championship.

A weather system combined with the typical Barnegat Bay seabreeze to bring southerlies of 20 knots with gusts well into the mid -20s on the first two days of the event. For the third day, a cold front left behind a gusty, shifty northerly. All three days featured steep chop, placing a premium on keeping the low-bowed Sunfish moving.

The top American finisher was Conner Blouin in fifth. The top female was Fernanda Higueras of Peru, and top Youth was Miles Diekmann of the US.
