The International J/70 Class Association has selected Annapolis Yacht Club to host the 2027 J/70 World Championship. Racing will be held during the peak fall season on the Chesapeake Bay of October 23-30.

“We are thrilled to welcome our J/70 friends from around the world to America’s Sailing Capital,” said Championship co-chairs Katja Sertl and Allan Terhune. “Nothing beats fall sailing on the Chesapeake!”

Annapolis (MD) is home to J/70 US Fleet #1, and has previously held two J/70 North American Championships. The Worlds venue will also host the 2026 North American Championship on October 27-November 1.

The 2025 World Championship will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina with the 2026 title to be decided in Cascais, Portugal. The International J/70 Class has grown to more than 30 member countries since its debut in 2013, and consistently has the largest participation at multi-fleet keelboat events.
