New leadership for sailing Down Under

New executive leadership has been appointed for Southern Hemisphere neighbors to guide the sport of their national federations:
Australian Sailing:
Respected sports administrator and dual Olympic gold medalist Malcolm Page OAM OLY (above left)has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer. Page brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a celebrated career both on and off the water. As one of Australia’s most successful Olympic sailors, Page secured gold medals at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games and was named Australian Sailing Male Sailor of the Year on two occasions. – Full report
Yachting New Zealand:
Steve Armitage has been hired as the new chief executive of Yachting New Zealand, succeeding David Abercrombie after more than 14 years in the role. Armitage is a seasoned major events and hospitality leader with significant experience across both the public and private sectors. He joins Yachting New Zealand from Hospitality New Zealand, where he has served as chief executive since June 2023. – Full report
