Andrew Campbell joins U.S. SailGP Team

Published on July 17th, 2025

The U.S. SailGP Team has strengthened its roster with the addition of Andrew Campbell. Campbell brings a wealth of experience to the program having previously raced at the 2017, 2021, and 2024 editions of the America’s Cup with American Magic and ORACLE Team USA.

“We’re delighted to add Andrew to the U.S. SailGP Team,” said Team CEO and Co-owner Mike Buckley. “He is a world-class athlete with an extensive background and a proven track record of success. As an organization, we never rest in the pursuit of progress and are constantly looking for ways to improve. We believe Andrew’s addition to the roster enables us to do that.”

The Georgetown University alumnus competed in the Laser class at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing after winning three College Singlehanded National Championships (2003, 05, 06). He was named a College All-American in four straight years and College Sailor of the Year in 2006.

Campbell is reunited with 2024 AC teammate Michael Menninger – both were flight controllers – who was added to the crew in April 2025, but neither are listed to be onboard for the next event on July 19-20 in Portsmouth, Great Britain.

The races will be held at 4:00-5:30pm BST (11:00am-12:30pm EDT). For each team’s crew roster, click here.
