Australia and New Zealand are significant sporting rivals, but the America’s Cup defender now finds itself relying on its neighbor to continue its winning streak:
A young Nathan Outteridge never really saw himself in the America’s Cup. As far as he was concerned, 18-foot skiffs occupied the center of his sailing universe and there weren’t many yachts as quick as them anyway,
Fast forward 25 years, and Outteridge’s world view has changed significantly – two Olympic medals, nine world titles, a couple of seasons in SailGP, and four America’s Cup campaigns can do that for you.
Now he’s been handed one of the most coveted, and high profile, roles in world sailing, skipper of an Emirates Team New Zealand aiming to “win” the Auld Mug for a fourth-straight time. – Full report

No entries have yet been submitted for the 38th America’s Cup as Defender New Zealand works with the Challenger of Record from Great Britain to organize the event. The two teams have agreed on some details with the venue moved to Naples, Italy after Barcelona, Spain declined hosting another edition. Racing will be in the spring and summer of 2027.
