Admiral’s Cup prepares for finale

As the 2025 Admiral’s Cup heads into the final stage, the triple-weighted Fastnet Race on July 26, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club leads the 15 2-boat teams following the Channel Race and the 7-race inshore series. Individually, Giovanni Lombardi Stronati’s Wally Rocket 51 Django WR51 (ITA) leads Class 1 while are James Murray’s GP 42 Callisto (NZL) is tied with the Botin 41 Beau Ideal (HKG) but ahead on countback.
“Racing in the Admiral’s Cup is something truly special,” said Django WR51 tactician, Vasco Vascotto . “This event has such a deep history and being part of it again, 26 years after my last time is a real privilege. I dreamed of this as a young sailor and now I’ve been given a second chance. You can feel something important has returned.”

The Admiral’s Cup, considered the unofficial world cup for offshore racing before ending in 2003, returns to UK waters in 2025. Fifteen 2-boat international teams will contend for the championship, competing in two offshore races and three days of inshore racing:
July 19 – Channel Race – 160 nm
July 22-24 – Inshore races
July 26 – Fastnet Race – 695 nm
