San Diego in charge at Invitational Cup

Newport, RI (September 11, 2025) – The 2025 Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup has completed three of five days of racing, with eight of the scheduled 12 races now on the scoreboard. For the 20 amateur teams racing IC37s on September 9-13, defending champion San Diego Yacht Club is the only crew with all top 8 scores and has a 17 point lead over Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in the no-discard series.

After day one had three races on the Rhode Island South course (south of Newport), the following two days had racing in Upper Narragansett Bay, north of Gould Island. Two races a day are planned to close out the ninth edition of this biennial championship. Racing starts at 11:00am ET with a live broadcast on Facebook and YouTube.
