Jeff Linton claims 2.4mR World title

Published on October 12th, 2025

The 2025 2.4mR World Championship was held October 9-12 on Lake Garda, Italy. Topping the field of 55 sailors representing 17 nations was Jeffrey Linton (USA), maintaining his lead from the very first race.

The one-person keelboat – with a class rule closely related to the International 12mR class rule previously used at the America’s Cup – had been the equipment for the singlehanded Paralympic event from 2000 to 2016.

Winner of the Women’s competition, and runner-up in the Open category was Megan Pascoe (GBR), while a rally in the final days elevated Urs Infanger (SUI) to third overall. Antonio Squizzato (ITA) finished fifth as the top finisher in the NOD (Non-Open Disability) Para division while Marko Dahlberg (FIN) in sixth won the NOD division.

Sailors faced challenging and variable weather conditions — light afternoon breezes during the first three days and a stronger Peler wind on the final morning. All categories — Open, NOD, and NOD Para — competed side by side in the 10-race series. – Details
