Catamarans rule 2026 Miami Boat Show

The prominent regattas in the sport are for various types of monohulls, but the cruising sector of sailing is going a different direction as reported by George Day for the Cruising Compass:

The Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show opens on February 11 and promises to be a city-wide boating extravaganza. There are plenty of reasons to jet to Miami in February not the least being the chance to climb aboard hundreds of new boats, sail and power.

A broker friend of mine told me a while ago that 75 percent of the new cruising sailboats sold in the last few years are multihulls with catamarans ruling the market. So, it will be no surprise that the first big American boat show of the year will be filled with mostly multihulls and there will be several interesting new designs to pore over. – Full report
