A-Class Catamaran Worlds in the USA
Published on November 4th, 2026
The 2026 A-Class Catamaran World Championship is on tap for November 9–14, bringing 79 boats and competitors representing 11 international associations to Tampa, FL.
As a development class, the emergence of the boats’ foiling potential at the 2014 Worlds ultimately led to the creation of two divisions: people willing or not willing to adapt their boats to hydrofoiling blades.
At 18-feet long, the singlehander is either fast or really fast. The official designation came at the 2018 Worlds, with the 2026 championship continuing the pattern of awarding two titles: Open fleet, with 18 high-performance foiling catamarans; and Classic fleet, with 61 non-foiling boats.
Among those expected to compete are American Ravi Parent, a former Open world champion and reigning U.S. national champion, and Poland’s Jacek Noetzel, the defending Classic world champion.
The event will also feature the debut of the Lynx, a newly developed American-built Classic catamaran designed and constructed by Fast Forward Composites in Bristol, Rhode Island
