2021 Moth Worlds gets underway

Lago di Garda, Italy (September 2, 2021) – The first day of the 2021 Moth World Championship had 138 competitors on Lake Garda for three races in the qualifying stage.

With the breeze between 8 and 12 knots, the competitors were divided into two groups which saw Tom Slingsby from Australia win all his races in the Yellow fleet while countryman Iain Jensen was similarly dominant in the Blue fleet.

Qualifying is planned for September 2-3 after which the higher ranked 50% will be assigned to the Gold Fleet and the lower 50% to the Silver Fleet for the championship stage on September 5-7.
