Marshall wins 2021 J/24 US Nationals

Published on September 12th, 2021

Colchester, VT (September 12, 2021) – Ten races were completed at the 2021 J/24 US National Championship but Mike Marshall with crew Jeff Hayden, Will Welles, Dave Hughes, and Matt Coughlin only needed nine of those races to secure the 2021 title.

“Will was doing a great job on tactics,” noted Marshall. “We had really clean boat handling from the bow team of Jeff and Matt. Dave and I worked hard on speed. We got ourselves out of a lot of sticky situations by being able to go fast.”

Including winning four of the first five contests, Marshall’s team attained finishes in the top eight and were able to skip race 10 as their discard for 22 net points. Tony Parker placed second overall with 37 points, and Carter White was third with 51.

Racing was held September 10-12.
