The World Sailing Show delivers monthly episodes which feature news, profiles, and racing highlights from across the world of sailing.

June 2025 Show features:
• Formula Kite European Championships in Türkiye, 470 European Championships in Croatia and 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17 European Championships in Greece
• 52 Super Series stops off in Galicia
• RC44 Cup heads to Porto Cervo for the second leg in this year’s tour
• SailGP New York sees Spain seal back-to-back victories

The June episode of the World Sailing Show starts in New York for the third and final SailGP event in the United States. The Spanish team skippered by Diego Botin secured back-to-back leg victories becoming the first team this season to notch two event wins, and Martine Grael’s Mubadala Brazil recorded their first ever fleet race win. The fleet now heads to Europe for the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth on July 19-20.

May saw two Olympic classes holding their European Championships. Formula Kite competed in Türkiye while the 470s took to the water in Croatia. In the men’s Formula Kite, Italy’s Ricardo Pianosi and Max Maeder dominated the competition, breezing through the heats to qualify for the four-way final, and Maeder needed just two races to claim the Open title. In the women’s event, Lauriane Nolot of France was equally impressive in her victorious campaign.

Meanwhile, 37 crews from 14 nations in the 470 class head to Split for their European Championships – including Austria’s Olympic champion Lara Vadlau and Spain’s Jordi Xammar sailing with new partner Marta Cardona. Indeed, it was a memorable event for the Spanish duo as they excelled, notching eight podium places from 11 races, including four wins, to finish way ahead of Martin Wrigley and Bettine Harris.

The RC44 Cup reached Porto Cervo for the second leg of this year’s tour with 11 teams ready for a week of racing. Team Nika and Artemis Racing flexed their muscle and raced into a comfortable lead ahead of the rest of the fleet. From there, it would come down to the last race to determine the winner. Team Nika rose to the occasion and claimed line honours to seal victory by just six points.

Next, the World Sailing Show catches up with the crew of American Magic Quantum Racing who are aiming for their seventh 52 Super Series championship. Bolstered by the return of several big names after America’s Cup duty, American Magic Quantum Racing put in an impressive performance on Galician waters in round two of the season, despite offering a glimmer of hope to the other teams with a surprising seventh place in race 7, winning the leg by 25 points to take the home the Royal Cup and open up a 20 point overall lead with three rounds still to come.

Finally, the World Sailing Show heads to Greece for the 49er, 49er FX and Nacra 17 European Championship. The event marked the start of a new chapter in all three classes as the Paris 2024 champions have mostly either retired from competition or enjoying a break from racing. Hear from the favourites as a new generation step forward to show their potential to be the next Olympic gold medallists.
