French dominate Kite Foil Gold Cup San Francisco

San Francisco, CA (August 2, 2015) – Tight races all week, with French sailors Maxime Nocher and Nico Parlier holding off the threat from Johnny Heineken and Joey Pasquali to win the San Francisco stop in the 2015 Kite Foil Gold Cup.

Maxime, at 21 years of age, sailed near flawlessly throughout the contest which saw 20 heats spread out over four days with conditions that ranged from the mild to the wild. This being his 1st foiling contest in San Francisco, he collect 7 aces in the finals and tossed out 2 tres for an 11 point total!

Nico Parlier, the son of famous French offshore sailor, Yves, was also extremely consistent and discarded a 10th and a 4th for the total of 18, which pushed local hero, Johnny Heineken, into 3rd, with 19 points. Joey Pasquali, consistently in the top 5, finishes 4th and rounding out the top 5 was another French kiter, Axel Mazella

Erik Heineken wins the women’s division and the StFYC youth team represented well in the final standings with Daniela Moroz, Nicolai Sponholtz, and Hayden Fischer with remarkable finishes in the Gold Fleet and Sebastian Sponholtz doing likewise in the Silver fleet!
