Planning the future of Bitter End

The gut wrenching video of Bitter End Yacht Club confirmed our worst fears that Hurricane Irma had decimated our favorite sailing resort. Located in the North Sound of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, the direct hit on September 6 delivered 185 mph that tossed boats and peeled apart structures. Little was left.

Bitter End was founded as a family resort and yacht club in 1973 by the Hokin family and was one of the largest employers on Virgin Gorda with over 175 employees. For over forty years, the spirited team that worked at Bitter End had become an extended family for many all over the world.

When a fundraising campaign was launched to help Bitter End employees, their families and the entire Virgin Gorda community, the response was immediate. But the question remained… would Bitter End return? Clarity now comes with this report from the Hokin family.
