Registration Open for 2019 Snipe US Nationals

Published on January 25th, 2019

Beverly, MA (January 25, 2019) – Registration is now open for the Quantum Snipe Nationals 2019, hosted by Jubilee Yacht Club on July 18-21. The regatta will be another opportunity for the Snipe class to demonstrate the Snipe class motto “Serious Sailing, Serious Fun”.

Jubilee Yacht Club has announced that Quantum Sails will be the title sponsor for the upcoming Snipe National championship. With the addition of Quantum, the foundation is in place for a world class event.

Alex Arcisz, Commodore of the Jubilee Yacht Club stated, “The members and community could not be more excited. The Snipe class has been a stalwart for one design sailing for generations and has more Olympians, America’s Cup and collegiate All-Americans than any other class I can think of. We are excited for them to come experience our beautiful club and sailing venue.”

George Szabo, multi class champion and Quantum representative said, “We remain committed to supporting competitive sailing at every level. The Snipe class is an example of a boat class keeping current and competitive while making sailing affordable and accessible to any demographic and income bracket.”

Beverly is located less than 20 miles northeast of Boston, adjacent to the historic witches of Salem and fishermen of Gloucester. Water and air will be warm and the typical 6-12 knot southeast sea breeze and tricky tidal currents are sure to challenge all competitors. This event will attract some of the best sailors in the class representing all parts of the United States and beyond.

The main event in July will be preceded by clinics and test events designed to help sailors transitioning to the Snipe from college sailing or youth classes like the 420. Sailors interested in learning more should reach out to event organizers.

About the Snipe Class
Designed in 1931, the Snipe has consistently been one of the top two person sailboat racing dinghies in the USA and throughout the World. Over this period many boat designs and classes have come and gone, but the Snipe and the Snipe Class have always been there to offer Serious Sailing, Serious Fun®.
