Pub Crawl: Where do you go?

Published on March 25th, 2020

The team at UK Sailmakers are highlighting our favorite places when not on the water…

As a sport, sailing is unique because it can be as much fun off the water as it is on. Much of that dry-side fun happens at clubs; but our sport also “supports” a vibrant bar scene. To keep our mouths watering, we’re asking you to send in photos of your local sailing pubs and the signs they have posted on their doors.

We’re starting with two of the east coast’s sailing hubs: Newport, RI, and Annapolis, MD. In Newport, our roving reporter Buttons Padin visited: The Clarke Cooke House/Candy Store, Zelda’s, IYAC, and the Fastnet Tavern. Mary Ewenson sent the photo of Annapolis’ Boatyard. If you escape whatever level of lockdown you’re under these days, and can swing by your local sailing bar, take some quick shots and send them to info@uksailmakers.com.
