PHOTOS: 75 years of Flying Fifteens

Published on August 22nd, 2022

The legendary Uffa Fox designed the Flying Fifteen in England in 1947. At 6 metres long (the 15 refers to the original waterline length – 15 feet), the Flying Fifteen is a dinghy with a keel so is ideal for those who have sailed dinghies and are tired of or too old to cope with capsizes.

The 2022 European Championship are being sailed in the Solent on August 21-25, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the design with team from the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, and Ireland.
