Shifty Northwesterly winds from 7 to 13 knots were the unusual spring conditions for the annual Ron Payne Ocean Regatta on May 4, 2013 off of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. With the Gulf Stream being in close and running hard to the North, the conditions were challenging. Three teams went into the last race separated by one point, and two came out tied for first, with Peter Commette and Libby Toppa winning it in a tie breaker over Kevin and Ashley Reali, with Ernesto Rodriguez and Natalya Doris two points back.
