Etchells World Championship – Day 1

Rosignano, Italy, (June 10, 2013) – On the first racing day in the Etchells World Championship, hosted by the Yacht Club Cala de Medici, two races were sailed after an earlier light air postponement. Martian (USA 1378), skippered by Marvin Beckman (who last week won the Italian Championship at the same venue) won race 1 and took a third in race 2 which was won by Gelert (GBR 1331) skippered by James Howells. Aretas (USA 1372) skippered by Skip Dieball placed 6th in race 1 and 7th in race 2, while Jose Fuentes on Caramba (USA 1405) placed 8th in race 2. – Results
