The 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race route will take in 10 cities in 10 countries countries and will require the teams to cover almost 40,000 nautical miles over nine months of racing. The ports will be in Alicante, Spain; Cape Town, South Africa; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Sanya, China; Auckland, New Zealand; Itajai, Brazil; Newport, USA; Lisbon, Portugal; Lorient, France; and Gothenburg, Sweden.
