PHOTOS: A few broaches and wipeouts

The 27th Downeast Regatta on September 7-8, 2013, hosted by Portland Yacht Club, Falmouth, Maine. Thirty-three boats from New Jersey, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Canada, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont, enjoyed a fabulous fun-fill weekend of great racing, a delicious Maine lobster bake, dancing, adult beverages and a Sunday afternoon awards party and BBQ.

On Saturday the racers were treated to a steady 8 to 10 knot southwest breeze, and sunny skies. Sunday’s weather kept the racers busy with a steady northwest 20 to 30 knot wind and gusts to 35 for most of the afternoon. Complete results.
