Sail Sheboygan hosts Thistle National Champs

Sheboygan, WI (July 28, 2014) – The 2014 Thistle National Championship is ongoing on Western Lake Michigan. Over the weekend, Grace Pytell topped the fleet to win the Women’s Championship. Five races were sailed in a 10+ knot southerly breeze, just outside of the harbor of the Sheboygan Yacht Club. Chris Wilson won the Junior title. Today, one race of the National Championship was sailed in a moderate northerly breeze with big rollers. The race, with 55 boats, finally got started after 3 general recalls and a “z” flag. Mike Ingham won the race followed by Kyle Finefrock. Results.
