New Around Britain and Ireland Outright Monohull Record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified of a new crewed Around Britain and Ireland outright monohull world record. Set by Ian Walker (GBR) and crew on the VO65 Azzam on August 11-15, the new 1773nm record is 4 days 13 hours 10 minutes and 28 seconds (avg speed 16.24 knots). The previous record of 5d 21h 26m 55s was set by Franck Cammas (FRA) and crew on the VO70 Groupama in August 2010. Source.
