College Sailing Chalk Talk: Season 11, Episode 6

Published on November 5th, 2014

Chris Love provides this week’s report on the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association 2014-2015 season along with his weekly Chalk Talk video report:

This week in college sailing, many of the top districts around the country held their conference championships, mostly in gusty and frigid conditions. Boston College had the standout performance in ICSA, winning New England’s coed, women’s and freshman championships simultaneously.

In the Mid-Atlantic, Georgetown took a convincing win at the War Memorial, the MAISA coed championship, continuing A division skipper Nevin Snow’s undefeated record this fall. College of Charleston took top honors in the South Atlantic.

This weekend’s results give us the lineup for the Atlantic Coast Championship in two weeks: Boston College, Yale, Tufts, Vermont, Dartmouth, Harvard, Roger Williams, Georgetown, Fordham, SUNY Maritime, Old Dominion, Navy, St. Mary’s, Merchant Marine Academy Kings Point, Hobart, College of Charleston, Eckerd, South Florida.

This coming weekend, Bellingham Yacht Club and Whatcom Community Sailing host the LaserPerformance College Sailing Singlehanded Nationals in Bellingham, Washington. Erika Reineke looks to defend her title in the women’s race, but the men’s side is up for grabs with several talented Laser sailors in attendance. Details
