Start date for 2016 Pacific Cup announced

Point Richmond, CA (November 5, 2014) – The Pacific Cup Yacht Club (PCYC) has chosen Monday, July 11, 2016 as the first start day of the 2016 Pacific Cup Race. The 2015 seminars designed to help racers prepare and qualify for this transpacific race include a Safety at Sea Seminar at Encinal Yacht club on May 17, and two Pacific Offshore Academy Seminars to be held at Richmond Yacht Club on Saturday, June 13, and Saturday, October 17.

Gary Troxel is the PCYC Commodore for the 2016 Pacific Cup Race cycle, Hill “Buzz” Blackett is Vice Commodore and Melinda Erkelens is Rear Commodore. All three are veterans of multiple Pacific Cups and enthusiastic about making the 2016 race from San Francisco Bay to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, a bigger, better and more fun event than ever.

The Notice of Race will be published soon, officially opening the 2016 race to entries.
