Oakcliff Sailing receives top training award

Published on January 25th, 2015

Oakcliff Sailing received the Captain Joe Prosser Award, given to an organization that has made an exemplary contribution toward improving the quality and safety in the training or instruction of sailors. This is the top award a training facility can receive from US Sailing, which was given to Oakcliff Sailing at the National Sailing Programs Symposium held January 21-24 in New Orleans, LA.

Dave Perry, a board member at Oakcliff, was the first recipient of the award in 1994. “Education is the cornerstone of growing and advancing the sport,” noted Perry. “Oakcliff Sailing is at the forefront of doing just that through its many educational programs and opportunities.”

Oakcliff is a high-performance training center for sailors who have progressed beyond traditional coaching methods. We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. In 2013, Oakcliff Sailing was named a US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider National Training Center.
