A billowing fantasy, always a little beyond the limits of human control. That is the 18ft Skiff
This began as the sport of the workers, no elite membership was required to board the Sydney Flying Squadron’s ferry. Ladies and larrikins, businessmen and bludgers, bookies and punters, they all flocked to gamble and gape at the reckless and the bold that would seek to saddle the 18ft Skiff.
This is the story of an Australian institution, a drama that’s played out every weekend on Sydney Harbour, and the people who’ve become part of it. This is ’18 Foot People 1983′.
