Published on February 26th, 2015

(February 26, 2015) – It is a busy week in Finn sailing with three events starting or just finished. 2013 World Champion Jorge Zarif just wrapped up his seventh consecutive Brazilian title in Rio. The Andalusian Olympic Sailing Week, in Cadiz, and Sail Auckland are underway.

The 2015 Finn season is stacking up to be another great year of Finn sailing with some great venues lined up for all the major class championships. First up is a welcome return to Split, Croatia in May for the European Championship, followed shortly after by the first visit of the Finn Masters to Greece. So far just over 130 older Finn sailors have entered for what will be a very special event.

For the youth in the class, the Silver Cup is being held in Valencia, the home of the Dinghy Academy, at the end of June. Then in mid-August the fleet heads to Rio for the Olympic test event. Finally in November, the Finn Gold Cup heads down to Takapuna, New Zealand for a great conclusion to the season and the second Olympic qualifier.
