Team Horowitz lead Flying Scot Midwinters

Published on March 17th, 2015

Sarasota, FL (March 17, 2015) – The second day of the Flying Scot Midwinters was another day in paradise, with a steady west-northwest wind (10-15 mph) showing up on time for three races.

Paul Abdullah and Alex Krumdieck won the first race, Ned Johnston and Ryan Donahue won the second and Mark Taylor and Andy Hayward won the third, but it was the consistency of Zeke and Jay Horowitz with a 3-2-3 that elevate them to the overall championship lead, four points ahead of day one leaders Jeff and Amy Linton.

In the challenger series, Lawrence and Ruth Bigus won the first race today while Norris Elswick and Chuck Tanner won the second and third races. Overall, Jim Leggette and Mike Funk are leading with 18 points, Randy Rubinstein and Jim Cavanagh (Sarasota) are second with 21 points, and David Strawbridge and Joseph Connelly (St. James City) are third with 29 points.

Eight races are scheduled through March 19.
