Hyères, France (April 21, 2015) – The next installment of the ISAF World Cup is kicking off in Hyères, France. This event brings together the best sailors in the world in all 10 Olympic class boats. The world’s top 30 ranked sailors, as of February, secured their World Cup spot to compete in Hyères, with the remaining 10 securing their invite at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia Regatta in March earlier this year.

Among the sailors to qualify and compete at this elite level regatta are Canadian Laser sailor Robert Davis, Canadian Laser Radial sailors Isabella Bertold and Claire Merry and Canadian Nacra Team Luke Ramsay and Nikola Girke. Bertold is currently ranked 8th in the ISAF World Rankings and has had impressive results at previous World Cup events, finishing 5th at the ISAF World Cup Melbourne.

All three Canadian 49er FX Teams; Team Berry/Merry (Erin Berry and Ingrid Merry), Team Rafuse/ Boyd (Erin Rafuse and Dannie Boyd) and Team Morgan/ Myatt (Arielle Morgan and Heather Myatt) will also compete with the creme of the crop in Hyères this week! Rafuse and Boyd raced a strong qualifying event at the Princesa Sofia Regattas in Mallorca sailing their way into Gold Fleet and finishing 22nd overall.

The ISAF World Cup event consists of a 4 day racing series starting on the 22nd with Medal racing on Sunday April 26th.
