Published on July 17th, 2016

French Village, NS (July 17, 2016) – The Club 420 Canadian National Championships wrapped up today hosted by St. Margaret Sailing Club with the Club 420 Association on St. Margaret’s Bay in Nova Scotia. Thirty-four 420s competed in the event, the second of the Triple Crown 420 regattas this summer.

The winds were very light today around 5 knots and temperatures stayed cooler in the mid 60s. There was a bit of fog that hung around too, so only one race was completed today before the 2:30 p.m. cut off time. There were six races total for the regatta.

Georgia Lewin-LaFrance and Antonia Lewin-LaFrance (CAN) posted a third to hold the lead and win the title. Two U.S. teams closed strong today, Jack Johansson/Claudia Loiacono and Eduardo Mintzias/Declan Mc Granahan, posting a first and second in the final race to move up to second and third overall. Both US teams are from Coral Reef Yacht Club.
